Radio relay system Ericsson Mini-Link TN

MINI-LINK TN is a unique radio relay platform (RRL), which can be used for building both separate spans of radio relay and terminal nodes, and Central nodes for complex network topologies, optimized for traffic aggregation and resource saving bandwidth. MINI-LINK TN is a high capacity microwave relay system with a broad bandwidth and high availability of the channel. Best in class performance of output power allows to implement longer spans using smaller diameter antennas. Node MINI-LINK TN is able, with the help of technology XPIC to double the bandwidth in the same frequency channel. If you use Gigabit Ethernet ports, the system MINI-LINK TN becomes All-IP.

Usage scenarios of the Mini-Link TN system:

  • deployment of new mobile transport networks. MINI-LINK TN fully supports All transport channels-IP-data transfer via Ethernet, as required by today's mobile networks, with the necessary quality of service for Ethernet traffic

  • upgrade of mobile traffic networks. MINI LINK TN is useful for mobile Operators given the current growth of data traffic in mobile networks. This device supports Native Ethernet and Native TDM and their combination. This allows our customers, starting with TDM traffic, a further widespread use of Ethernet

  • deployment of fixed broadband access networks based on radio relay channel. Platform MINI-LINK TN can be used to transfer high-priority traffic, and Internet best-effort traffic. Connecting remote sites via broadband radio-relay communication channels at gigabit speeds is a good alternative to FOCL

  • deployment of networks for corporate clients, broadcasters and state-owned companies. MINI-LINK TN is a perfect place both for the construction of individual spans, as well as deployment of entire networks of communication for different tasks

Complete solution for full packet networks

Native Ethernet support makes it possible to transmit packet traffic, whereby the bandwidth of one channel becomes 1 GB/s. Additional bandwidth is achieved by using functions of traffic aggregation, Hitless Adaptive Modulation and configuration of stairs Protected 2+0. MINI-LINK TN fully supports carrier-grade QoS for Ethernet, IP and MPLS, as well as functions ERPS, STP/RSTP/MSTP, Sync E, 1588v2, CES and OAM Service.

Solution for consistent network evolution

In a radio channel both Native Ethernet and Native PDH can be transmitted at the same time, enabling the cost-effective transition from TDM to packet. Start with the available E1 channels or combination of them with Ethernet. Add more Ethernet during the data traffic growth and complete the migration, having full Ethernet. If at this stage a small part of the TDM traffic remains, the CES function can be one of the alternatives to the transfer of such traffic through the packet network. MINI-LINK TN fully supports the distribution of the synchronization Layer 1 on the network.

Seamless adaptive modulation

Seamless adaptive modulation is a practical way to significantly increase the bandwidth of radio channel under favorable weather conditions. In the implementation of Ericsson at the time of modulation change there is no bit error or packet loss, and system also provides constant delay, which is critical for batch synchronization. Adaptive modulation MINI-LINK cope not only with the attenuation caused by precipitation, but also with multilocular attenuation. This feature distinguishes carrier-class equipment, such as MINI-LINK TN.

Configuration of span Protected 2+0

Configuration of span Protected 2+0 enables our customers to increase the capacity of the span on relay up to three times. Switching configuration from mode 1+1 to mode Protected 2+0, you can add a lane for traffic best-effort, while maintaining protection for priority traffic.

MINI-LINK TN - the cost savings

MINI-LINK TN equipment fully supports remote management and routing traffic. When the reconfiguration or extension of the channel required, all the steps to upgrade can be performed on remote. The integrated Ethernet switch enables the aggregation of Ethernet traffic, saving bandwidth and costs for frequency resource. Unrivalled performance of the power output and sensitivity for reception allow the use of smaller antenna size, which saves the cost of renting space for the antenna on the mast.

Average mean time to failure of MINI-LINK TN modules is more than 70 years

The possibility of internal cross connect TDM and packet switching minimizes the number of cables and reduces the complexity of radiosite.
MINI-LINK TN has the reliable protection required for the operator class equipment.

Ethernet switching

Built-in Gigabit Ethernet switch and Provider Bridge (IEEE 802.1D, 802.1Q, 802.1ad) provides bandwidth up to 24 Gbps of non-blocking switching in full-duplex mode. Support of Jambo frames, MSTP/RSTP, LAG (IEEE 802.1AX), QoS: 8 queues-supported SPQ, WFQ and WRED, Policing: according to the MEF, Link Performance: Link OAM (IEEE802.3ah), LLF (Link Loss Forwarding).

Network synchronization

MINI-LINK TN equipment supports flexible selection of the clock source. For output clock ports it uses TDM traffic, dedicated sync port 2 MHz, Sync E. Transparent support batch synchronization NTP and PTP, 1588v2 ready.

Radio channel

The equipment can transmit both Native Ethernet and Native PDH in the same radio channel. Maximum speed in radio on one block — 464 Mbit/s, the speed of the linear interface —464…568 Mbps depending on compression and frame size. The use of XPIC doubles the bandwidth. Using Radio Link Bonding you can achieve throughput linear interface at 1 Gbps.

XPIC

The equipment supports the XPIC for SONET, Native PDH and Native Ethernet, as well as their combinations.

Seamless adaptive modulation

The equipment supports seamless adaptive modulation in the range 4-1024 QAM channels about 7-56 MHz.

Performance of backplane on slot

Up to 800 Mbit/s of nonblocking switching capacity for PDH traffic and up to 2 Gbps (full duplex) of Ethernet traffic on high-speed slot.

Reliability and redundancy

Carrier-class MINI-LINK TN equipment supports redundancy of network ports, line ports, boards, indoor, matrix switching and power supplies.
